Our work is overseen by an Independent Steering Committee (ISC), which meets annually to provide independent advice and help monitor our progress. This is our highest level of governance, responsible for guiding the group’s overall direction and long-term strategy.
The ISC is composed of experts in relevant fields, including an Independent Chair, and an independent member who represents the interests of patients and the public (PPI). All members are independent of the MHRG, meaning they support and advise on the work without being directly involved in it, ensuring their guidance remains objective and unbiased.
Our Stakeholder Advisory Group meets quarterly and brings together a broad range of representatives who are connected to, invested in, and/or directly impacted by our research. Their insights help guide the direction and approach of our work.
With members from across Bath, North-East Somerset, Swindon, and Wiltshire, this group plays a crucial role in ensuring our research remains aligned with the needs and priorities of our local communities.

The group includes representatives from:

It sets the strategic direction of the programme, manages research activities, monitors progress and outputs from each work package. This group provides financial oversight to ensure resources are used appropriately.
